Andergraund Rivista nasce come progetto editoriale, gestito esclusivamente da (ex-)studentesse e studenti dell’Università di Padova, provenienti perlopiù dalle magistrali e dalle triennali offerte dal Dipartimento di Studi Linguistici e Letterari. Il fil rouge del nostro progetto sono le lingue e letterature dell’Europa Centrale e Orientale. In quanto dimensioni culturali e letterarie spesso relegate a una dimensione di “Altro”, l’obiettivo che ci poniamo è quello di ribaltare quell’insieme di stereotipi tipici del nostro Occidente, cercando di creare un discorso di dialogo e decostruzione di retoriche dominanti. Tema della Call for Papers, IX Numero
Il nono numero di Andergraund Rivista si concentrerà sul tema dello “spazio” declinato in ambito letterario, delle arti figurative e visive.
Questa call for papers invita a riflettere sul concetto di spazio nelle sue molteplici declinazioni – geografiche, liminali e interiori – e sulle sue risonanze simboliche nel sistema letterario e in quello artistico. Lo “spazio” è inteso sia in senso fattuale che fittizio. Saranno accolti contributi che esplorano, ad esempio, lo spazio urbano, dalla planimetria della città alla figura del flâneur, o lo spazio domestico, inteso sia come luogo concreto sia con una funzione metaforica. In questa prospettiva, la “casa” può essere letta come simbolo della lingua madre, o il corpo come luogo di appartenenza o di alienazione. Altra declinazione la si ritrova nella letteratura di confine, intesa tanto come linea di separazione simbolica e/o fisica quanto come spazio d’incontro e di scambio. Lo “spazio”, inoltre, è anche legato al concetto di migrazione, diaspora o colonizzazione. L’obiettivo è indagare come lo “spazio”, reale o immaginario, strutturi identità, esperienze e narrazioni nella dimensione geografica dell’Europa centrale e orientale.
Modalità di partecipazione alla Call for Papers
Andergraund Rivista accetta dieci contributi esterni di vario genere: articoli, traduzioni (purché siano garantiti i diritti editoriali per la pubblicazione) o interviste. L’interesse della rivista si rifà al campo artistico-letterario, quello artistico (arti figurative o visive) e, infine, storico-sociale, purché attinenti al tema proposto. Le aree di interesse sono russistica, boemistica, slovacchistica, balcanistica, ucrainistica, polonistica, bulgaristica, albanistica, germanistica, ungaristica e romenistica. Contributi inerenti ad aree limitrofe o con qualche legame storico-sociale a quelle indicate potranno essere presi in considerazione.
La stesura dell’articolo deve seguire le norme editoriali:
Per partecipare con il proprio contributo occorre inviare la propria candidatura alla mail di Andergraund Rivista andergraundrivista@gmail.com entro e non oltre il 15 novembre 2025. L’accettazione della proposta avverrà entro il 30 novembre 2025. Nella candidatura deve essere presente la presentazione del candidato, la descrizione dell’argomento che verrà trattato (max. 2000 caratteri spazi inclusi) e una bibliografia minima.
In caso di approvazione da parte del direttivo, il contributo dovrà essere inviato alla stessa mail entro e non oltre il 15 maggio 2026. L’articolo verrà preso in esame dalla direzione, valutato e riconsegnato con le segnalazioni circa modifiche o integrazioni necessarie il 15 giugno 2026. L’articolo corretto dovrà essere riconsegnato il 20 giugno 2026. Successivamente, sarà previsto un secondo giro di bozze per correzioni minime (termini, errori di battitura – non saranno possibili correzioni consistenti).
L’uscita del numero è prevista per settembre 2026.

Andergraund Rivista is an editorial project founded and run by (former) students of the University of Padua, primarily from the B.A. and M.A. programs offered by the Department of Linguistic and Literary Studies. The central focus of our project is the exploration of languages and literatures from Central and Eastern Europe. Our goal is to challenge Western stereotypes that often reduce Eastern literary and cultural dimensions to a simplistic concept of “otherness”. Topic of the IX Issue’s Call for Papers
The ninth issue of Andergraund Rivista will focus on the theme of “space” as articulated in literature and in the visual and figurative arts.
This call for papers invites reflections on the concept of space in its multiple configurations – geographical, liminal and interior – and on its symbolic resonances within literary and artistic systems. Space is understood both as a factual and as a fictional dimension. Possible lines of inquiry include, for instance, urban space, from city planning to the figure of the flâneur, as well as domestic space, conceived both as a concrete site and with a metaphoric function. Within this perspective, the concept of “home” may be interpreted as a symbol of the mother tongue, or the body as a locus of belonging or alienation. Contributions may also address borderland literature, understood both as a line of symbolic and/or physical separation and as a space of encounter and exchange. “Space” is also linked to questions of migration, diaspora and colonisation. The aim is to investigate how “space”, whether factual or fictional, structures identities, experiences and narratives within the geographical context of Central and Eastern Europe.
Submission Guidelines
For the current issue, Andergraund Rivista will accept ten external contributions, including articles and translations (with prior permission granted for translation rights). Topics are welcome from, but not limited to, the artistic and literary fields. Contributions from disciplines such as history, social sciences, film, and performance arts are also welcomed, provided they relate to the theme of the issue. Submissions should focus on studies related to the Balkans, Czechia, Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, and Ukraine.
Submissions should focus on papers related to the study areas of Balkan, Czech, Bulgarian, German, Hungarian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Slovakian, and Ukrainian studies.
Contributions pertaining to neighbouring regions may also be considered.

Andergraund_Editorial Guidelines
Proposals must be sent via email to Andergraund Rivista at andergraundrivista@gmail.com by November 15, 2025. Accepted proposals will be notified by November 30, 2025. Proposals should include a brief author biography, a paper topic (limited to 2000 characters including spaces), and an essential bibliography. Accepted papers must be submitted to the same email address by May 15, 2026. Papers will be reviewed by the editorial board and returned with comments and requests for revisions by June 15, 2026. The final version of the paper must be resubmitted by June 30, 2026. A second proofreading phase will be conducted for minor changes (such as vocabulary and typos); significant alterations to the text will not be permitted.
The publication of the issue is planned for September 2026.
